The School of Forensic Science and Risk Management (SFSRM) is one of the pioneer and flagship schools of the Rashtriya Raksha University and has assumed the position of scholastic nucleus in the overall academic set up of the university. The School of Forensic Science & Risk Management has been established specifically with an aim to prepare trained & skilled human resource specifically for Scientific Investigation of Crime. The landscape of Crime investigation has witnessed a sea change with respect to amalgamation of scientific techniques with traditional & contemporary methods of policing & forensic services. The forensic sciences are used around the world to resolve complex crimes, civil disputes, to justly enforce criminal laws and government regulations and to ensure justice delivery to public at large. Forensic scientists and their expertise are in huge demand for objective and Scientific method of finding the truth and to seek justice in a legal proceeding. Forensic science offers a rewarding career and opportunity where the knowledge of science can be purposefully and passionately applied for the good of society.
The School of Forensic Science & Risk Management at RRU is manned by distinguished academicians and renowned forensic scientists constantly striving for excellence in applied research, teaching, learning and innovations in the field of forensics. SFSRM offers various Masters level academic programmes in Forensic Science, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Accountancy and Fraud Investigation, and research programmes such as M. Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. SFSRM is also actively involved in conducting various short term certification and executive development programmes in specialized areas of forensics. The school is well equipped with the state of art laboratory facilities comprising of highly advanced and sophisticated instruments which in turn are the backbone of the school’s infrastructure with respect to education and research. SFSRM offers a highly jubilant yet competitive environment to its students, research scholars and faculties with ample opportunities to interact with eminent speakers and personalities through Forensic Intellectual Research Scientific & Technological Dialogue – FIRST Dialogue forum. The School emphasizes on holistic learning and strategic investigation techniques which are crucial in achieving the vision and mission of our university of overall National Security.
The SFSRM dwells upon its state of the art forensic technologies, intellectual capital, emancipatory pedagogy and global educational standards to remain a preferred choice of students and researchers. The SFSRM offers a range of forensic consultancy services to CBI, CID, State Police Agencies, and others and is one of the unique examples of collaboration between academia and field practitioners. The academic eco system in the school is such that it offers an all-inclusive exposure to the budding forensic experts while at the same time rendering them cutting edge training in the variegated fields of forensic sciences.

- The Programme aims to prepare finest Forensic Accountants & Financial Investigators who can use their expertise to become an asset for government & private investigating agencies.
- To enable the programme participants to develop expertise in investigating fraud and financial misrepresentations. To prepare them for assisting the courts, investigating agencies and corporates to resolve disputes, check illegal financial activities and delivery of justice in cases of fraud.
- To Train and educate the programme participants in accounting, auditing and investigative skills in order to make them capable of handling the most complex issues of finances having implications on an individual or an enterprise or a state.
- To offer the most comprehensive and advanced coverage of forensic accountancy theory & practice frequently intertwined with actual field work exposure to develop competencies in audit & information systems, financial investigation, case reporting and client service capabilities.

Tools and Technology
State of the Art Laboratories
INTRODUCTION
School of Forensic Science and Risk Management well established, state of the art, highly equipped viz. Forensic Analytical Laboratory, Forensic Biology Laboratory, Forensic Chemistry Laboratory, Forensic Physics Laboratory, Crime Scene Management, Forensic Photography, Fingerprinting and Document analysis Lab, Polygraph Lab and Brain fingerprinting Lab, Forensic Acoustic Laboratory for varied purposes ranging from academics, students hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal cases comprising following auxiliary as well as sophisticated Instruments.
FORENSIC ANALYTICAL LABORATORY
The lab is dedicated for the analysis of various samples from Forensic Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Toxicology laboratories prepared using different sample preparation techniques. The lab is responsible for the confirmatory analysis of these exhibits by providing qualitative and quantitative results. Currently utilised for metal profiling by EDXRF, qualitative and quantitative analysis by UV-Visible Spectrophotometry, simultaneous separation and identification by High Performance Liquid Chromatography. The lab is useful in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal & civil cases as well.
FORENSIC BIOLOGY LABORATORY
The laboratory is devoted for the analysis of several Biological samples such as blood, hair and other biological fluids such as semen, saliva, urine, vaginal secretion, etc. by using several organic, inorganic, qualitative and quantitative techniques. The lab also offers qualitative and quantitative analysis of protein, blood grouping, etc. The laboratory is equipped with numerous auxiliary as well as sophisticated instruments such as Gel electrophoresis, Gel documentation system, Refrigerated centrifuge, and different types of microscopes like Stereo microscope, compound microscope, etc. The lab is utilised in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal & civil cases as well.
FORENSIC PHYSICS LABORATORY
The laboratory is devoted for the Examination of several physical Evidences such as Bullets, Cartridge cases, Firearm, tool marks, glass, soil paint, fibre, etc. This lab is equipped with highly advanced instruments such as comparison microscope, Eyepiece less stereo microscope, High resolution hand- held microscope, etc. Comparison of different samples can also be done in this laboratory with the use of Comparison microscope. The laboratory has its applications in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal cases as well.
FORENSIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
The laboratory is dedicated to identification of unknown materials that can be encountered at a crime scene. It usually involves trace evidence analysis of Drugs and its metabolites, alcohol and other beverages, arson and explosive residues, fabric, glass composition, gunshot residue, paint and ink, soil, etc. through various colour tests also known as field test/spot test after extracting the same from non-biological matrices. Various extraction procedures viz. Liquid – Liquid Extraction, Solid – Phase Extraction techniques are utilized in isolation of these trace evidences followed by in vitro chromatographic procedures while the final confirmatory analysis is carried out using sophisticated and state of the art instruments. Fume – hood and autoclaves helps to prevent the exposure from the hazardous chemicals. The laboratory is utilised in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal cases as well.
CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION LABORATORY
This laboratory comprises advanced tools that helps in the investigation of a crime scene. The laboratory focuses on improving the investigative skills of students by providing them exposure to mock crime scenes with the use of advanced kits and tools. It Comprises highly advanced instruments, kits & tools viz 3D Crime Scene Scanner, Poly ray kit, Fingerprint development kit, Crime scene kit, DSLR cameras etc. The laboratory is functional in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal cases as well.
FORENSIC DOCUMENT EAMINATION LABORATORY
This laboratory is fully dedicated for the examination of all legal documents like passports, visa,stamps and seals, driving licence, vehicle registration certificate, bank notes, revenue and special stamp, etc. The lab is well equipped with advanced instruments such as VSC 6000/HS, Eyepiece less stereo microscope, etc. These instruments are highly suitable for document verification and authentication under various light frequencies for better visualization and examination. The laboratory is functional in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal & civil cases as well.
MULTIMEDIA FORENSIC LABORATORY
The goal of Multi Media Forensic laboratory is to analyse the images, and video content in order to examine various kind of forensic evidence. It focuses specifically on still images by looking at the authenticity and integrity of data. This advance lab consists of advance equipment such as Amped Five Pro and Amped Authentication are specifically designed to provide a complete solution to process, restore, clarify, and analyse images and video in a simple, fast and precise way. The lab is functional in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal & civil cases as well.
POLYGRAPH LABORATORY
The purpose of Psychology lab is to provide training to students to cope up with real cases related to psychology in future. This lab gives an idea to students of human behaviour, to understand criminal and victim behaviour. This lab has instrument called Polygraph popularly referred to as a lie detector that measures and records several psychological indicators such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity while a person is asked and answers a series of questions. The lab is utilised in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal & civil cases as well.
BRAIN FINGERPRINTING LABORATORY
BRAIN FINGERPRINTING LABORATORY is an advance technology which enables the investigator the with the portable system of measuring MERMER – P300 waves related to experiential knowledge of a perpetrator acquired during commission of crime. The technology has been Brain Waive USA to India Adapted for the 1st time for RRU. The existing Technology has been used to Give leads to Forensic Psychologist and Investigating officer in criminal case referred by various investigating Agencies. The technology requires a set of Probes and Targets in the form of images and text Displayed on a monitor for the suspect. It can crucially corroborate evidence for criminal justice system.
FORENSIC ACOUSTIC LABORATORY
The goal of Forensic Acoustic Laboratory is to analyse the audios content in order to produce various kind of forensic evidence. This lab consists of high-end advance equipment Voice Spectrograph specifically designed to provide a complete solution to process, authenticate, and identification of audios in a simple, fast and precise manner. It is unique as it can represent voice signal into different forms in single step. Also, it not only aids in authenticating the audios but also aids in identifying the speaker. It can compare two or more audios in one go. The lab is functional in academics, student’s hands on training, research, training of the executives, and consultancy of live criminal & civil cases as well.

FORENSIC CONSULTANCY SERVICES & CASE INVESTIGATIONS
Introduction
The School of Forensic Science & Risk Management (SFSRM) has a state of the art laboratory with highly advanced and sophisticated instruments. While the instruments are majorly utilized in academics and research, these also find their role in various Executive Development Programmes (EDPs), workshops and certificate courses. SFSRM offers comprehensive consultancy services with competitive charges based on per sample analysis. The service comprises from evidence analysis in crime cases to independent sample testing. The scope ranges from and covers the domain like tool mark analysis, biological fluid examination, blood grouping, blood comparison, questioned documents analysis, fingerprint examination, multimedia evidence analysis, crime scene photography and 3D crime scene scanning. The School also offers psychological examination via polygraph, layered voice analysis; criminal profiling, IQ test and specific learning disability tests by forensic & RCI registered Psychologists.
SFSRM equipment and instrument range include; Polygraph; Layered Voice analysis; Crime Scene Light Sources; 3D Crime Scanner; ESDA; VSC; Eye piece less Stereo – Microscope; Simple and Compound Microscope; High Speed Desk – Top Centrifuge; Comparison Microscope; UV – VIS Spectrophotometer; EDXRF; HPLC; ATR – FTIR; Brain Fingerprinting technology and Other auxiliary equipments. The School is in the process of strengthening its overall laboratory and analytical instrumentation capacity which will include Forensic Accountancy & Financial Investigation softwares and GC-MS/MS besides setting up of new state of the Art labs in the area of Sports Forensics, Chemical Safety and Accident & Crash Investigation Lab.

- 40 % reduction in all the above rates shall be given to Research Scholars & Students from Educational Institutions on a case-to-case basis.
- Institutions / individuals seeking verbal opinion may be given 25% reduction in the charges, upon the understanding that no no written report or expert witness service shall be provided.
- All prescribed Charges shall be valid till revised and notified again.
