Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) is serving the nation as an Institution of National Importance, with the vision of imparting security education through a robust academic–research–training ecosystem for national security and police education in the country. The University is dedicated to strengthening India’s internal security architecture by developing skilled professionals, promoting strategic research, and supporting capacity building for security forces, law enforcement agencies, and youth aspirants.

During the first Convocation of Rashtriya Raksha University on 12th March 2022, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, referred to RRU as the “Jewel of the Nation that is helping us strengthen the vision of Sashakt Bharat.” Further, the Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Minister of Co-operation, Shri Amit Shah, while addressing the convocation ceremony, envisioned the establishment of RRU campuses across regions and states to expand the reach and benefits of this premier institution throughout the country. This vision is in alignment with the mandate under Section 4(4) of the Rashtriya Raksha University Act, 2020, enabling security forces, law enforcement agencies, and youth aspirants from various regions to advance in the domain of security education.

In alignment with this national mandate, the Rashtriya Raksha University Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Campus plays a significant role in extending the University’s academic, training, and research initiatives to the northern region of India. The campus operates from its office located at Pantha Chowk, Srinagar, and serves as a regional hub for professional training, research activities, and outreach initiatives, keeping in view the unique strategic, socio-cultural, and geographical context of Jammu and Kashmir.

To further strengthen regional outreach and collaborative academic growth, Rashtriya Raksha University is in the process of establishing a Satellite Campus in Ladakh, in collaboration with the University of Ladakh. This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to inclusive education, regional capacity building, and the development of specialized programs that address the strategic, security, and developmental needs of the Ladakh region.

Through its presence in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Rashtriya Raksha University continues to contribute meaningfully to national security, regional empowerment, and the creation of a future-ready security education ecosystem in service of the nation.
