RRU Puducherry Admission Process 2024 – 2025

Admission Procedure

A selection committee composed of Campus Director, Academic Coordinator and Admission Coordinators shall make admission on the basis of fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria and interview. The candidates will be ranked based on the merit and allotted seats across categories.

For BA Program 30 seats will be reserved under CENTAC, a Centralized Admission Committee (COMMON ONLINE ADMISSION PORTAL TO ALL COLLEGES IN U.T. OF PUDUCHERRY) https://www.centacpuducherry.in/ where the candidates are allotted based on the merit to the colleges and universities in the UT Puducherry regions. Post allocation an Interview will be conducted and Merit will be generated.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess 50% marks in the qualifying examinations for admission in any program offered by the RRU Puducherry Campus. For female, SC, ST, and PH candidates, the minimum eligibility criteria will be 45%.

Reservation of Seats
  1. Unreserved Classes: – 51 % of the seats in the program.
  2. Other Backward Classes (OBC-Non-Creamy Layers): 27% of the seats of the program.
  3. Scheduled Castes (SC): 15% of the seats of the program.
  4. Schedule Tribes (ST): 7.5% of the seats of the program.
  5. Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 10% of the seats of the program.
  6. Women/Female candidates: 30% (as Horizontal Reservation) reserved for the women candidates. If no suitable female candidate is found, the seat reserved for such purpose will be offered to male candidates of the respective reserved category.
  7. 3 % of seats are reserved for PwD against each respective category.
  8. If no candidates are available in the reserved category, the seat will be converted to the general category.
Eligibility Criteria for Interview

Candidates who possess minimum eligibility and ranked top will be called for an interview on the ratio 3:4 to the available seats.

Preparation of Merit List
  1. Merit list shall be prepared after verification of application forms. It will be prepared by following reservation guidelines as mentioned. Once it is completed, seats will be offered through the merit list. Candidates shall secure their seats by paying the necessary fees. If a student fails to submit fees, the seat will be forfeited and offered to someone else next on the merit list.
  2. The criteria for deciding merit order in case of candidates having equal merit marks, the candidates with older age will be placed higher in the merit list.
