About Ms. Laxmikumari Devi

Ms. Phurailatpam Laxmikumari Devi is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Physical Education and Sports, Rashtriya Raksha University, Lavad, Gujarat; She has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Physical Education, 2018 and 2020. Before Joining Rashtriya Raksha University she had served at the Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh for one year as a guest faculty in Physical Education and Sports Science under Sports Physiology department. She had done her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, NERC, Guwahati with a specialization in Exercise Physiology and Yoga. She started her career in Sports since 2007 as a Judo player and converted her sports specialization to Yoga during her Bachelor degree final year. She represented Manipur State in 56th National School Games, New Delhi 2011 and represented LNIPE Judo team consecutively for two years in All India Inter-University at Odisha 2016 and Kurukshetra 2017 and LNIPE Yoga team in All India Inter-University, Chennai 2019. She represented North East Zone in the 17th and 18th National Sports Climbing Competitions, New Delhi 2011 and 2012. As she has a fondness for Adventure sports she start her Adventure Career since 2010 by completing the Basic Mountaineering Course from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali, 2010 and serving as an Assistant instructor at Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association till date. She is an NCC “B” Certificate Holder (AIR WING) with “A” Grade (2017).
