About Ms. Laxmikumari Devi
Ms. Phurailatpam Laxmikumari Devi is an Assistant Professor at Rashtriya Raksha University, where she teaches Physical Education & Sports and Health & Fitness Management. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Physical Education with a focus on Exercise Physiology, Yoga, and Sports Injury with the title “ Assessing the Effect of a Selected Hatha Yoga Intervention as a Preventive Measure for Lower Limb Musculoskeletal Injuries Among Newly Recruited Police Personnel”.
Ms. Devi holds an MPEd and BPEd from Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, NERC, specializing in Yoga and Exercise Physiology. She cleared the UGC NET exams in 2018 and 2020. Her prior work experience includes roles as a Guest Faculty at Rajiv Gandhi University, a part-time practical faculty with Global Yog Alliance, and a part-time instructor in mountaineering and adventure sports at the Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association. She interned at the National Sports Academy in Imphal.
Her achievements include representing LNIPE in All India Inter-University competitions in Yoga and Judo, participating in National School Games (Judo), NCC National Games and National Sport Climbing Championships, holding an NCC “B” Certificate with an “A” Grade, and completing a Basic Mountaineering Course with Grade A. She is also a certified Yoga Trainer and National Yogasana Judge Level-2.
Ms. Devi has delivered expert lectures on Stability and Mobility in Training, Adventure Activities, Injuries and Rehabilitation, and Basic Hatha Yoga. She has published research papers in reputable journals and organized capacity-building training programs. She is a member of several sports associations and has key skills in Yoga, Judo, Sports Climbing, Archery, and adventure activities, along with proficiency in planning and implementing physical education programs and basic computer applications.
