About Avijeet Kumar Biswas

Avijeet Kumar Biswas is currently working as a Research Officer, School of Internal Security, Defence and Strategic Studies (SISDSS). He has a PhD in Politics and International Relations (European Studies) from the Centre for European Studies, Pondicherry University. His thesis focused on India and the European Union’s contribution in building peace in Afghanistan and the prospective areas where they can cooperate. Avijeet has a M.Phil. Degree from the Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, University of Calcutta. His area of study was peacebuilding in Afghanistan with special focus on the development of the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and the national elections between 2001 and 2014. This study also attempted to analyse the perception of the Afghan people and experts regarding the ANSF and the national elections. He has an MA in Politics and International Relations from the Department of Politics and International Studies, Pondicherry University. His area of interest includes Indo-Afghan Relations, India-EU Relations, Peacebuilding, and India’s foreign policy in regards to South Asia.
