About Prof (Dr.) Jogiswar Goswami
Prof (Dr.) Goswami with over twenty-five years of teaching and administrative experience in physical education and sports, currently serves as Dean of the School of Human Kinetics and Health at Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University, Dibrugarh, Assam. He has previously held key positions as Professor and Head at Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and as Head of the Sports Department at Amity University, Noida. He also served as Convener of the CBSE Physical Education and Sports Board from 2017 to 2021. As a sportsperson, he has won three national medals in gymnastics and aerobics, was a two-time Assam state gymnastics champion with over 20 individual medals, and competed in 12 national-level events across gymnastics, aerobics, and trampoline. His coaching has produced Delhi state medalists and an international medalist at the USA Invitational Aerobics Championship. Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and M.Phil with first division, topped his M.Phil, cleared the UGC-NET in 1997, and earned a Ph.D. in 2003. He has published over 25 research papers and guided six M.Phil and eight Ph.D. scholars, with five more currently under his supervision. As an author, he has written 16 books on physical education, four for higher education and twelve for schools. His administrative roles include Head of Department positions at schools and universities, chairing institutional committees, and leading the CBSE Physical Education Board. With five years of school teaching and twenty years at the college and university level, he also has seven years of fitness training experience, including work with Ranji Trophy players and SAI coaches. He has conducted over 45 teacher training workshops across India and has been a resource person for various national and international events, including UGC NET moderation and curriculum development for NCERT and CBSE. A passionate musician, he plays over 30 instruments, was part of the Hindi pop band “Aryans,” and has produced multiple albums. He has performed internationally, including in Beijing, Shanghai, and Dubai, and for celebrities like Jackie Chan, making him a multifaceted professional in sports, education, and the arts.
