About Prof (Dr) Ajay Kumar

Prof (Dr). Ajay Kumar, born on 14th November 1966, is a Professor at the School of Physical Education, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, with over 29 years of teaching experience. He has held key administrative roles, including Director of Physical Education (2014-2016) and Incharge Librarian of the Central Library at DAVV (since 2017). He earned his BPE (1987), MPE (1989), and M.Phil (1990) from Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Gwalior, and completed his Ph.D. in Physical Education from Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 1993 under a Junior Research Fellowship. Dr. Kumar has participated in multiple sports at the school and college levels, captained his university tennis team twice, and competed in the All India Inter-State Athletics Championships. He has received numerous honors, including a Gold Medal in M.Phil, merit scholarships, and a UGC Junior Research Fellowship. A prolific academic, he has guided 22 M.P.Ed dissertations, 9 M.Phil dissertations, 14 Ph.D. theses, and published 27 articles in national and international journals. His expertise includes Sports Biomechanics, Sports Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, and Fitness Training, and he has contributed as a resource person in seminars, workshops, and UGC educational films. His interests extend to sports homoeopathy, health counseling, photography, and computer programming. Dr. Kumar resides at 99, Anand Nagar, Chitawad Road, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
