About

Mahima Gupta serves as a Clinical Psychologist at Rashtriya Raksha University, specializing in clinical psychology. She earned her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from RRU, PG Diploma in Counselling Guidance and Psychotherapy at Banaras Hindu University, Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. Among her achievements are the National Award for Scout Guide, a Silver Medal for exceptional academic performance in her master’s degree in Psychology and an Outstanding Performance Award for Yogic Interventions in Psychotherapy. She has also served as a resource and expert speaker in numerous national and institutional events. Gupta has been instrumental in mental health initiatives at the RRU, providing services to patients at the Psychosocial Care Center, Hospital for Mental Health. She has been involved in mental health awareness programs for army personnel, staff, students, and the public. Her experience in mental health services included volunteer work for mental fitness programs at Rashtriya Rifles, clinical psychology trainees, student counselors, and research assistants in an ICSSR-funded project examining juvenile delinquents. Her research focused on the psychological benefits of ancient Indian practices on mental health. Gupta has presented studies on the effect of breath observation practice on psychological well-being and the effect of yoga practice on stress, cognitive failure, and subjective happiness at national conferences and published in international journals. She is affiliated with the Rehabilitation Council of India, Global Mental Health Action Network, and Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists. Gupta is committed to promoting mental health literacy through talk, teaching, training, research and clinical practice and aims to reduce the gap between mental health services and underserved populations.
