About

Dr. M. Hakim Haider is a Resident Scholar under the University’s National Security and Police Scholarship since March 2021. He is also Chairperson, Statistics Department, Institute of Economics, Academy of Sciences, Afghanistan. Dr. Haider is also a part time lecturer in Dunya, Kateb, Kardan and Kabul Universities. He also supervises the Master’s thesis of Afghan scholars and students from the Academy of OSCE, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Dr. Haider has a Master’s degree in Economics and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) from the Department of Economics, Punjab University, Chandigarh under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Government of India (ICCR) in 2017. He is the author of the Book titled “Poverty in Afghanistan: Causes, Consequences and Coping mechanism”, published by Palgrave Macmillan UK in (2018). Dr. Haider has written numerous research papers in National and International Journals including the Arianna Journal of Academy of Sciences Afghanistan (ASA), Journal of Science Temper (JST), International Journal of Emerging Issues in Management and Technology [IJEIMT]), Punjab University Chandigarh Research, Social Sciences (PUSSRJ) and International Journal of Business Management and Research (IJBMR). Dr. Haider has presented a research paper in the Regional Workshop on “Sustainable Development: Communication Strategy” organised by the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA-INSA-NISCAIR) in Delhi in November 2017 which has been subsequently published by the Indian National Science Academy (INSA). He has also organized and attended many national and international seminars including on “Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India (TAPI) Gas Pipeline project” and on “Free Market Economic System in Afghanistan”.
