Brig( Dr) LC Patnaik is an eminent soldier- scholar with a PhD in Defence and Strategic Studies and Masters in Psychology, Defence Studies, Business Administration and International Relations. He has multi dimension professional expertise in military diplomacy, disaster management, electronic warfare and peace keeping operations in the United Nations. A decorated Infantry officer with services in Siachen glacier, experience of fighting Insurgency in North East and J&K and command of a sensitive Infantry Brigade on the Line of Control (Indo-Pak) and an important operational logistic formation on Indo- China borders. He exhibits a unique and optimal mix of a scholar and a soldier. He has served as India’s Defence Advisor at the Embassy of India , Teheran ( Iran) handling diplomatic challenges in Afghanistan, Iraq and other neighborhoods during the turbulent periods of Middle East crisis He has also been in prestigious appointments of Instructors at Indian Military Training Team (IMTRAT) Bhutan and Indian Military Academy ,Dehradun. He was President of Services Selection Board and Hon’ble Chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission ( Constitutional Post).He was also Chairman of the Standing Committee of State PSCs and Examinations Reforms Committee. He remains on the academic faculty of IIT ,Bhubaneswar and Indra Prastha University New Delhi and on board of Advisors of many reputed educational institutions. He has contributed immensely in many journals and publications.
