About

Dr. Rohini Sharma has been serving as Assistant Professor of English Language at the School of International Cooperation, Security and Strategic Languages (SICSSL) since September 2025. Prior to this appointment, she was associated with The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (2020–2025) as Assistant Professor, where she taught a wide range of courses, including Drama, Poetry, Literary Criticism, Business Communication, Personality Development, and Academic Writing. Dr. Sharma earned her Ph.D. in English (2025) from the Faculty of Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Her doctoral thesis, Mapping Emotions through Food and Gender in Contemporary Indian Women’s Fiction, engages with the intersections of food and gender studies in contemporary literary discourse. She holds a Master’s degree in English from the University of Jammu and has successfully qualified the National Eligibility Test (2019) and the Gujarat State Eligibility Test (2022). She was also awarded the SHODH Fellowship in 2021. During her tenure at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, she served as Editor of the university magazine MSU CONNECT. Her primary research lies at the intersection of food studies and gender studies, with a focus on examining food systems, culinary traditions, and socio-cultural constructions of gender. Her work explores the integration of Eurocentric and Indocentric theoretical frameworks to analyze narratives by contemporary Indian women writers, including those from the diaspora. In addition to her core specialization, she maintains a strong academic interest in diaspora and gender studies. Dr. Sharma has contributed various research articles to UGC-CARE listed and peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at several national and international conferences.
