About
Mr. Snehasis Thakur is a Subject Matter Specialist in Mandarin Language in the School of International Cooperation, Security, and Strategic Languages (SICSSL) since 24th September 2024.
Mr. Snehasis Thakur has done his Graduation and Masters from Visva Bharati University in Chinese language and Culture. Recognized for his exceptional dedication in academics, Mr. Snehasis Thakur was awarded with a one year scholarship program to study Chinese in Xiangtan University, Hunan province in China under the Chinese Scholarship Council program in the year 2014-2015. Mr. Snehasis is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Visva Bharati University and his area of research interest is ‘Child Literature in China’.
Mr. Thakur was invited to attend and deliver a keynote lecture in the Young Sinologist Program held in Shanghai, China in the year 2018. Mr Thakur has also taken part in summer camp programs held in Yunnan University, China in 2013 & 2017. He has qualified for the Chinese Level Test (HSK) with very good marks. Prior to joining RRU, Mr Thakur has vivid and profound working experience in various industries such as SECPO- 1 (KMPCL), Amazon development centre India Pvt Ltd, Amity University Rajasthan, Eastern Command Chinese language School in Panagarh, Nihao Calcutta, All India Radio (ESD Division) and various other B2B interpretation projects.
Inspired by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore from his childhood, Mr Snehasis Thakur is a firm believer of the concept of “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high, where knowledge is free, where the world has not been broken up in fragrance by narrow domestic walls”. He is a dedicated, hardworking, and responsible person and bears a moral character. He is enthusiastic and is full of innovative ideas in developing teaching pedagogies and new courses for the overall development of the students. Mr. Snehasis Thakur has attended and presented papers at multiple national and international conferences.
