Col Gaurav Bhatia is a Scholar Warrior with an abiding interest in the field of Disaster Management and Disaster Risk Reduction with a special interest in the realm of CBRNe aspects of man-made disasters. Throughout his service career, spanning 30 years – he has always been academically active. He was awarded a Doctorate for his thesis on the topic of “Preparedness of Chandigarh Against a Deliberate or Accidental Release of a Biological Agent and Responsible Consequence Management”. He has four Post Graduate Degrees in various subjects – MBA (Human Resource Management) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi; MSc (Defence and Strategic Studies) from University of Madras, Chennai; MA (Human Rights) from Indian Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi and Masters in Disaster Management from Panjab University, Chandigarh – where he was awarded the Gold Medal. He has also attended the Defence General Management Programme (DGMP – Executive MBA) at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow. Col Bhatia has published multiple papers in various National and International peer-reviewed journals.
