About Ms. Pooja Uday Barve

I, Ms. Pooja Uday Barve, work as a Forensic Psychologist. I hold two Postgraduate diplomas; one in Forensic Psychology and the other in Forensic Sciences and Related Law, also completed LLB from Mumbai University.

My more than four years’ work experience in the juvenile justice system covers the spectrum of children in conflict with the law as well as children in need of care and protection. I have experience in handling diverse populations in terms of their emotional and behavioral problems such as interpersonal problems, addiction issues, relationship issues, emotional problems of children coming from disturbed families, career guidance and counseling, victims of child sexual abuse, human trafficking, child marriage, child pregnancy, and domestic violence.

Currently, working in Sabarmati central prison with prisoners and officials along with other extension activities like rising mental health awareness and offer personal counselling sessions to Indian Army, training sessions with prison staff, delivering lectures online and regular mode at different places.
