About Dr. Namkha Tsering

Dr. Namkha Tsering is a Subject Matter Specialist (Tibetan Language) at the School of International Cooperation, Security, and Strategic Languages (SICSSL) since October 2023. He teaches Tibetan language and is also involved in taking few classes for International Relations. Dr.Namkha Tsering has previously worked as a Translator and Announcer of the Tibetan unit of the External Service Division, All India Radio, New Delhi, and as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Chinese Studies, New Delhi.

Dr. Namkha Tsering has a Ph.D.in Chinese Studies from Centre for East Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and was the recipient of the AET Scholarship of Excellence, AET France through the Department of Education, CTA. He also is awarded the M.Phil degree from the same center for his dissertation titled “Minority Nationalities and the Statist Narrative on Tibet in History Textbooks.” He has a Master’s degree in Modern History from the School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and a bachelor’s degree in History Honors from Kirori Mal College of Delhi University, New Delhi.

His area of interest includes Tibetan and Chinese Historiography, Tibetan and Chinese nationalism, nation-building, identity creation, ethnic relations in China, and history education in nation-building, among many others.
