About Mr. Geetesh Kumar Singh
Dr. Geetesh Kumar Singh is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) with over seven years of experience in clinical, research, supervision and education. He trained and worked at premier institutions, including National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) and Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh.
At RRU, Dr. Singh led the MPhil in Clinical Psychology program and has played a pivotal role in establishing the Psychosocial Care Center (PCC) at the Hospital for Mental Health, Ahmedabad. He contributed to curriculum development and launched landmark programs—Bachelor in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology, regulated by National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), expanding educational opportunities for aspiring psychologists and mental health professionals. He also serves as Coordinator for Mental Health Services & Clinical Psychology program and Member of Secretory of Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Ethics, Disability, and Disciplinary Committees, and is currently leading the Global Correction Administration Studies (GCAS) Project at RRU.
Beyond academia, he provided mental health services to law enforcement agencies, university staff, students, and the broader community, aiming to prevent and promote mental health and well-being. Committed to bridging research and practice, Dr. Singh developed mental health literacy modules and organized over 20 awareness and training programs aimed at the prevention and promotion of mental health and well-being among police personnel, professionals and the public.
Dr. Singh’s research focuses on police and public mental health; digital health interventions and artificial intelligence; Internet addiction and social media, emphasizing the significance of emotional, psychological, and social well-being in addressing contemporary mental health challenges. As a fellow of the American Psychological Association, Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Psychology Society of India, Indian School Psychology Association, and the Cochrane Collaboration, he integrates global insights with localized interventions to advance mental health education and services.
