About Mr. Arghya Chakraborty

Mr. Arghya Chakraborty is Assistant Professor, English Language at the School of International Cooperation, Security and Strategic Languages (SICSSL) since January 2023. Previously, he has worked as an Assistant Professor at Parul University (2018-19), ITM SLS Baroda University (2019-22) and Marwadi University (2022-23).

Mr. Chakraborty is currently a Ph.D. Research Scholar in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. His research area is ‘English Fiction’ under which he is exploring different Temporal and Spatial constructs of Narrative in the selected Nigerian and German Novels. Mr. Chakraborty has completed his B.A. (Hons) in English from West Bengal State University and has been awarded with a Gold Medal for his excellence in Master of Arts in ‘English’ by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He has qualified the National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission in 2019.

His areas of interest include English Poetry, English Fiction, American Literature, Latin-American Literature, Drama & Performance and English Language Teaching (ELT). Mr. Chakraborty has publications in different Peer Reviewed and UGC Care Listed Journals of National and International repute. He has made multiple presentations in National and International conferences. Mr. Chakraborty is an Active Member at the ‘British Council’ and ‘English Language Teachers’ Association of India’. When it comes to theatre, he has performed in several stage plays of Rabindranath Tagore, William Shakespeare and other renowned playwrights.
