UNICEF collaborates with RRU to set up a Center of Excellence for Child Protection (CECP)
Ensuring a secured childhood is a prerequisite to ensuring their all-round well-being and development. In order to contribute towards achieving this objective, Rashtriya Raksha University, an Institution of National Importance of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has set up a Center of Excellence for Child Protection (CECP) at its Gandhinagar campus. The virtual inauguration of this session took place today.
The Center will focus on integrating safety for children in offline as well as online settings. It shall also work towards building strategic partnerships, for conducting comprehensive training and relevant research for making meaningful contribution towards creating a safe and protective environment for children.
During the inauguration program, Dr Laxmi Bhawani, Chief Field Officer, UNICEF, Gujarat, outlined the focus areas on ending violence against children. Shri Anil Pratham, ADGP, Mahila Cell, CID Crime, Gujarat Police also attended this virtual program and shared his experiences and highlighted the significance of striving for enforcement excellence to prevent crimes against children.
Rashtriya Raksha University intends to develop as a world-class Institution catering to the academic, research, and training requirements of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and state police forces around the country. This Center shall contribute to the efforts of the University in achieving its objective.
