About Extension and Distance learning

The Directorate of Extension and Distance Learning (E & DL) is determined to provide community services among the society for addressing societal, environmental, corrective and real-time issues and facilitating people in life time learning and developing skills by providing learning environment to stakeholders in India and around the globe.

Objectives of E & DL

* Students & professionals participation in various curricular, extension programs and career enhancement through exchange programs, volunteering and work-based learning.

* Outreach of the campus system wherein Emotional Quotient is developed by working and collaborating with people, understanding the real time requirements, evaluation of the strategies and aiming towards overall growth.

* Provide support for dissemination of information, knowledge and skill to empower students, community & stakeholders, making them aware and putting them on standardized parameters for Global excellence.

* Collaborate with various organizations and institutes in capacity building & provide consultancy for strengthening the safety and security of the Nation.

* Community Service programs such as cleanliness drive, camps, awareness programs environmental activities like tree plantation, coastal cleanup, etc.

* Certificate courses & diploma under E-learning modules.

* Cultural exchange programs on regional, national and international platforms.

  1. Celebrated Foundation Day of Gujarat on 01 May 2025 in which Dr. Rizwan Kadri, Young Historian & Member, PM’s Museum & Library Society, New Delhi delivered a special session on “History of Gujarat & its Police”. The event was jointly organized by EDLD, SISSP & NSS Unit of RRU.
  2. RRU hosted “Roundtable of Newly Appointed VC’s” jointly with “Association of Indian Universities” on 08-09 April 2025.
  3. Foundation Day Celebration organised by Raj Bhavan, Gujarat as per direction of MHA was attended by RRU Staff & Students from the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh & Odisha on 02 April 2025.
  4. Community Development Program conducted by NCC Unit of RRU for the villagers of Lavad to with the theme of “RRU Ke Prayas, Lavad Ka Vikas, Har Dil Mein Jagaye Nayi Umang Ki Aas” on 27 March 2025.
  5. Shree Swaminarayan High School, Balva visited RRU for Exploring National Security aligned programmes and for the guidance about Defence Functionary of India on 26 March 2025.
  6. The Gender Resource Centre sponsored seminar on Gender Awareness and Development was attended by 500 students from Rashtriya Raksha University on 18 March 2025 at RRU.
  7. International Women’s Day Celebrated in which Guests of Honours Smt. Syalu S. Maharana, Commandant, CRPF; Ms. Veena Gupta, Founder, Seam Risk India; Dr. (Ms.) Rashmi Sharma, Deputy Director, SAC (ISRO), and Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N Patel graced the occasion by their presence and inspiring words. The event was organized by EDLD, CWPSS (SISSP) on 13th March 2025.
  8. Poster Making Competition organized by Gender Sensitization Committee on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025 with theme of Accelerate Action on 10 March 2025.
  9. NSS Unit of RRU organized University Round of the prestigious Gujarat Cultural Elocution Competition 2025 and University Level Winner Anwesha Priya (BTech 1st Yr Student) attended Zonal Round.

  14. Students of Pankaj Vidyalaya, Sampa, Dehgam visited RRU to explore the vocational education awareness and career guidance on 20 February 2025.
  15. Invited Para Sports Association of Gujarat & Blind People Association (25 participants which includes National, International Player as well as Sports Coach and Officer bearers of the Association) to attend Expert Session of Ms. Deepa Malik, Arjuna Awardee, Int. Para-athlete & Former President on 30 January 2025 in International Olympic Research Conference of BCORE.
  16. Over 30 RRU students, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and staff voluntarily participated in the 13th Blood Donation Drive organized by Raj Bhavan on the occasion of the birthday of Shri Acharya Devvrat Ji, Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, and collectively donated 24+ units of blood on 18th January 2025.
  17. RRU brings CSR representatives from 30+ industries, PSUs, and banks for the CSR Roundtable on 24th January 2025 to discuss their contributions to National Security and Defense Management educational and research projects and programs led by RRU.
  18. In contribution to Mission Karmayogi, a National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB) launched by Hon. PM Narendra Modi under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), PMO, RRU has developed five diverse content courses and successfully uploaded them on the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
  19. On National Youth Day, celebrated on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti (12th January 2025), the “Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue” was organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, featuring an interaction between the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the youth. Students were encouraged to actively participate in the celebration.
  20. Selected students from PM Shri Adarsh Primary School, Lavad, who participated in the Wushu Training Camp at their school, are now undergoing advanced training at RRU to prepare them as future athletes.
  21. On 3rd December on the occasion of International Day of Person with Disability (Divyang) (IDPD), RRU celebrated successfully in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment & Office of Director of Social Defence & Adani Foundation. The program witnessed participation from over 800 Divyangjans in presence of Hon’ble Cabinet Minister and State Minister of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
  22. RRU student Juvansinh Sodha (BASM) explores Kerala in Yuva Sangam Phase-V under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, experiencing Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect) and Prodyogik (Technology)
  23. On 05 December 2024, 120 students and over 10 faculty members from SSB Madni Primary School visited the RRU campus to aware the students about national security.
  24. On 13 December 2024, successfully hosted School Visit of Shastri K A Thakar High School, Nandol 200 Students (96 Girls & 104 Boys) of 11-12th Commerce & Arts to explore opportunities in National Security Domain for Youth.
  25. Three Cyber Commandos of the current training batch addressed the students on cyber safety and asked to be vigilant during online exposure.
  26. Adwait Vidyamandir School 11-12 Arts Students (57 Students & 4 Teaching Members) & Arts College (60 students & 10 staff) from Jasara, Taluka: Lakhani, Dist. Banaskantha, visited university to explore the available opportunities in various UG & PG programmes.
  27. PM Shri Adarsh Primary School, Lavad students were trained in “Wushu” Game by RRU BPES National Players (Four Students Group 2F+2M).
  28. Vigilance Awareness Week, 2024 has been observed in RRU by organizing activities like Special Session on Ethics & Governance as well as e-Cleanliness & Digital Hygiene Drive.

  38. On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day Five (5) Police Families were honoured who attained Martyrdom during the service which includes One family each from CRPF & Gujarat Police and Three Families of BSF on 21st October 2024 in line with MHA’s guidelines.
  39. Make RRU Healthy Campus session was organized jointly with SBSFI School in which Dr. Punit Chaturvedi, Asst. Prof., National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, Rajasthan delivered the session.
  40. Blood Donation & Thalassemia Screening Camp Organized in association with Ahmedabad Red Cross Society in which 128 Donors registered, 93 Blood Units Collected and 52 were screened for Thalassemia.

In todays globalized world with technological advancements multiple ways for imparting education are available through regular and distance mode having focus on the needs and concerns of the community and stakeholders for achieving global excellence.

The Directorate of Extension and Distance Learning of Rashtriya Raksha University strives in all possible ways to address overall concerns of social and national importance.

We regularly organize extension and awareness programs, camps, NSS & NCC activities to empower youth and professional for overall development of their personalities and professional competence for better society.

Distance learning in the discipline of National Security field & allied areas is our objective to impart education and skills to students, academicians, researchers & professionals working in Govt. department, security agencies and private sectors.

RRU intends to offer courses in distance learning mode in areas like Defence & Strategic Studies, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Maritime & Coastal Security, Forensic Science, Law Enforcement & Criminal Justice, Police Administration, Criminology & Behavioral, Data Science & Research Methods and all other relevant areas of National Security and Policing.

RRU has established RRU’S Integrated Space for E-education (RISE) platform to facilitate learners to enable them to study in distance mode and live virtual environment.

We welcome students, researchers and staff & professionals associated with RRU and learners and stakeholders across the globe to contribute in fulfilling the vison and mission of the Directorate.
