About Extension and Distance learning
The Directorate of Extension and Distance Learning (E & DL) is determined to provide community services among the society for addressing societal, environmental, corrective and real-time issues and facilitating people in life time learning and developing skills by providing learning environment to stakeholders in India and around the globe.
Objectives of E & DL
* Students & professionals participation in various curricular, extension programs and career enhancement through exchange programs, volunteering and work-based learning.
* Outreach of the campus system wherein Emotional Quotient is developed by working and collaborating with people, understanding the real time requirements, evaluation of the strategies and aiming towards overall growth.
* Provide support for dissemination of information, knowledge and skill to empower students, community & stakeholders, making them aware and putting them on standardized parameters for Global excellence.
* Collaborate with various organizations and institutes in capacity building & provide consultancy for strengthening the safety and security of the Nation.
* Community Service programs such as cleanliness drive, camps, awareness programs environmental activities like tree plantation, coastal cleanup, etc.
* Certificate courses & diploma under E-learning modules.
* Cultural exchange programs on regional, national and international platforms.

- On occasion of National Youth Day, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS), information regarding Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 viewed virtually by RRU Parivar and Mr. Diwakar B, Programme Officer, NSS of PY Campus has attended the Hon’ble PM Session at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from 10-12 January 2026.
- Delegation of seven member visiting Gujarat from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong led by Prof. Sudhanshu Jangir, Director, Indian Institute of Sustainability participated in BCORE Night Run 2026 on 10th January 2026.
- RRU received a sponsorship of ₹ 2 Lakh received from Swachh Bharat Mission Urban – Gujarat and ₹ 10,000 from Tripur Builders for BCORE Night Run 2026.
- Shri H S Shah Commerce College, Modasa and Samarpan Arts and Commerce College, Gandhinagar visited RRU for cyber security awareness session an initiative of Kawach Kendra, Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat on 09 January 2026.

- The CSR Roundtable organised by RRU witnessed the participation of 30+ leading organisations and was graced by the esteemed presence of the Guests of Honour Dr. Abhishek Lakhtakia, CEO – Adani Foundation, and Shri Ashwini Saxena, CEO – GMR Varalakshmi Foundation on 28 November 2025.
- On Constitution Day (26 November 2025), an Expert Session by Prof. (Dr.) Alok Sharma, University of Delhi, Mass Reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India, Poster Making & Quiz Competitions, and “A Courtroom Conundrum: Legislature vs. Judiciary” were organised by EDLD & SCLML.
- As part of the five-year celebration of Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), students and staff of RRU took a pledge for a drug-free community on 18 November 2025.
- A Distinguished Lecture by Shri Harsh Chauhan, Former Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, was organised to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on 15 November 2025.
- MIT-ADT University delegation visited RRU to strengthen academic collaboration on 12 November 2025.
- Commemoration of 150 Years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ and the commencement of year-long celebrations took place with Mass Singing by students and staff, along with a Police Music Band Performance on 07 November 2025.
- The E-Cleanliness and Digital Hygiene Drive 2025 was organised by SITAICS in collaboration with EDLD from 30 October 2025 to 20 November 2025, under which 300+ RRU participants from more than 15 academic and administrative units were e-certified.
- To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as National Unity Day, a special session by Prof. (Dr.) Kanaiyalal Nayak, Dean, Professor & Head, Dept. of History & Culture, Gujarat Vidyapeeth, on Contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Nation Building was organised on 31 October 2025.
- On National Unity Day (31 October 2025), RRU students and staff participated in the “Run for Unity” at the RRU Campus, and also joined Gandhinagar Police for the Unity Run organised by Dehgam Police at Dehgam.
- On 30 October 2025, Poster Making and Elocution Competitions were organised on the themes “Unity in Diversity, Harmony and Nation-Building Spirit” and “Role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Integration of Princely States.”
- Families and wards of 30 SCG, NSG, Ahmedabad Hub visited RRU on 14 October 2025 on the occasion of NSG Raising Day for a Financial Awareness Programme.
- Mental Health Awareness Programme on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2025 at Lavad Gram Panchayat Office in coordination with SBSFI.
- To support Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, NSS Volunteers, NCC Cadets, Students and Staff of RRU participated in Swachhotsav – Swachhata Hi Seva 2.0 from 17 September 2025 to 02 October 2025.
- A Blood Donation, Thalassemia Awareness and Screening Camp was jointly organised by RRU, the Indian Red Cross Society – Ahmedabad, and Lions Club – Ahmedabad on 01 October 2025 to mark RRU Foundation Day.
- A Health Talk on Cervical Cancer Awareness, for female students and staff organized on 26 September 2025 in coordination with SBSFI and Health & Safety Branch (HSB) in association with Narayana Hospital, Rakhial, Ahmedabad to enhance awareness, promote preventive care and encourage early detection for better health outcomes.
- 30 SCG, NSG, Ahmedabad officials visited RRU on 25 September 2025 to explore collaborative projects, joint programs, training modules and capacity-building initiatives.
- Lakshadweep Police Officials visited and conducted community interaction programmes under Mission Karmayogi at PMSHRI Adarsh Lavad Primary School, PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Rakhiyal, Gandhinagar), M. B. Commerce and G. M. N. Arts College (Dehgam), Vatsalya Senior Citizen Home (IRCS), Dehgam Special (Deaf & Dumb) School, Sampa Step Well, and held interactions with Sampa villagers and Agniveer trainees of Adani Foundation and Gujarat SC Batch from 18 September 2025 to 24 September 2025.

- Tree Plantation – 76th Van Mahotsav 2025, Gandhinagar District-Level Celebration by Gandhinagar Forest Department, was conducted at RRU on 04 September 2025.
- On 01 September 2025, Sports Day was celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand Ji along with National Nutrition Week, including School Twinning Programme visits to Dehgam Cluster Schools & PM SHRI Adarsh Primary School, Lavad.
- PM SHRI Adarsh Primary School secured Third Rank at the District Level in the “Saksham Shala” Overall Category (2024–25).
- ONGC partnered with RRU to enhance fire-safety resilience by launching a six-month training programme for 25 youth of Gujarat on 19 August 2025.

- Celebrated Foundation Day of Gujarat on 01 May 2025 in which Dr. Rizwan Kadri, Young Historian & Member, PM’s Museum & Library Society, New Delhi delivered a special session on “History of Gujarat & its Police”. The event was jointly organized by EDLD, SISSP & NSS Unit of RRU.

- The Gender Resource Centre sponsored seminar on Gender Awareness and Development was attended by 500 students from Rashtriya Raksha University on 18 March 2025 at RRU.
- International Women’s Day Celebrated in which Guests of Honours Smt. Syalu S. Maharana, Commandant, CRPF; Ms. Veena Gupta, Founder, Seam Risk India; Dr. (Ms.) Rashmi Sharma, Deputy Director, SAC (ISRO), and Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N Patel graced the occasion by their presence and inspiring words. The event was organized by EDLD, CWPSS (SISSP) on 13th March 2025.

- Invited Para Sports Association of Gujarat & Blind People Association (25 participants which includes National, International Player as well as Sports Coach and Officer bearers of the Association) to attend Expert Session of Ms. Deepa Malik, Arjuna Awardee, Int. Para-athlete & Former President on 30 January 2025 in International Olympic Research Conference of BCORE.
- Over 30 RRU students, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and staff voluntarily participated in the 13th Blood Donation Drive organized by Raj Bhavan on the occasion of the birthday of Shri Acharya Devvrat Ji, Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, and collectively donated 24+ units of blood on 18th January 2025.
- RRU brings CSR representatives from 30+ industries, PSUs, and banks for the CSR Roundtable on 24th January 2025 to discuss their contributions to National Security and Defense Management educational and research projects and programs led by RRU.
- In contribution to Mission Karmayogi, a National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB) launched by Hon. PM Narendra Modi under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), PMO, RRU has developed five diverse content courses and successfully uploaded them on the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
- On National Youth Day, celebrated on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti (12th January 2025), the “Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue” was organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, featuring an interaction between the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the youth. Students were encouraged to actively participate in the celebration.
- Selected students from PM Shri Adarsh Primary School, Lavad, who participated in the Wushu Training Camp at their school, are now undergoing advanced training at RRU to prepare them as future athletes.
- On 3rd December on the occasion of International Day of Person with Disability (Divyang) (IDPD), RRU celebrated successfully in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment & Office of Director of Social Defence & Adani Foundation. The program witnessed participation from over 800 Divyangjans in presence of Hon’ble Cabinet Minister and State Minister of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
- RRU student Juvansinh Sodha (BASM) explores Kerala in Yuva Sangam Phase-V under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, experiencing Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect) and Prodyogik (Technology)
- On 05 December 2024, 120 students and over 10 faculty members from SSB Madni Primary School visited the RRU campus to aware the students about national security.
- On 13 December 2024, successfully hosted School Visit of Shastri K A Thakar High School, Nandol 200 Students (96 Girls & 104 Boys) of 11-12th Commerce & Arts to explore opportunities in National Security Domain for Youth.
- Three Cyber Commandos of the current training batch addressed the students on cyber safety and asked to be vigilant during online exposure.
- Adwait Vidyamandir School 11-12 Arts Students (57 Students & 4 Teaching Members) & Arts College (60 students & 10 staff) from Jasara, Taluka: Lakhani, Dist. Banaskantha, visited university to explore the available opportunities in various UG & PG programmes.
- PM Shri Adarsh Primary School, Lavad students were trained in “Wushu” Game by RRU BPES National Players (Four Students Group 2F+2M).
- Vigilance Awareness Week, 2024 has been observed in RRU by organizing activities like Special Session on Ethics & Governance as well as e-Cleanliness & Digital Hygiene Drive.

- On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day Five (5) Police Families were honoured who attained Martyrdom during the service which includes One family each from CRPF & Gujarat Police and Three Families of BSF on 21st October 2024 in line with MHA’s guidelines.
- Make RRU Healthy Campus session was organized jointly with SBSFI School in which Dr. Punit Chaturvedi, Asst. Prof., National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, Rajasthan delivered the session.
- Blood Donation & Thalassemia Screening Camp Organized in association with Ahmedabad Red Cross Society in which 128 Donors registered, 93 Blood Units Collected and 52 were screened for Thalassemia.
- Two Days Hands-on Workshop (Hybrid) on Data Analytics using Microsoft Power-BI on 8th-9th October 2024.
- Visit to MLA’s Office to discuss the ongoing developments and request for support in new initiatives like installation of CCTV, renovation of Anganwadi’s and Veterinary Hospital.
- Lavad Special School Visit for Divyangs to understand their needs to support them through RRU mentorship & guidance.

- Organized Cleanliness Drives during 17th September to 01st October 2024 under Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 Campaign with motto of “Swabhav Swachhta, Sanskar Swachhta” in which RRU’s campuses also joined and observe the drives within campus and outside campus at public places like River, Worship Place, Railway Station, Bus Station & Public Parks.

In todays globalized world with technological advancements multiple ways for imparting education are available through regular and distance mode having focus on the needs and concerns of the community and stakeholders for achieving global excellence.
The Directorate of Extension and Distance Learning of Rashtriya Raksha University strives in all possible ways to address overall concerns of social and national importance.
We regularly organize extension and awareness programs, camps, NSS & NCC activities to empower youth and professional for overall development of their personalities and professional competence for better society.
Distance learning in the discipline of National Security field & allied areas is our objective to impart education and skills to students, academicians, researchers & professionals working in Govt. department, security agencies and private sectors.
RRU intends to offer courses in distance learning mode in areas like Defence & Strategic Studies, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Maritime & Coastal Security, Forensic Science, Law Enforcement & Criminal Justice, Police Administration, Criminology & Behavioral, Data Science & Research Methods and all other relevant areas of National Security and Policing.
RRU has established RRU’S Integrated Space for E-education (RISE) platform to facilitate learners to enable them to study in distance mode and live virtual environment.
