About Dr. Raj S. Dave

Dr. Raj S. Dave, a registered patent attorney in the United States, is the President & Founder of Dave Law Group (DLG), a full-service Intellectual Property law firm in Virginia. He is the President of LexpertConsilium, located in Bangalore, India. LexpertConsilium LLP is a back office of Dave Law Group and practices patent and trademark cases at the India Patent Office, but does not practice Indian Law in Indian Courts.

Dr. Dave is an expert on several patent litigations at the Delhi High Court. He collaborates with Former Chief Judge Randall R. Rader (his LL.M. Thesis Advisor) on litigations in India and the United States.

Dr. Dave is the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) IPR Chair Professor at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar, India. He is a Visiting Professor Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Chongqing, China. He is the Chairman of Indian Government’s Patent Facilitation Committee whose objective is to oversee the working of Patent Facilitation Centers in different Indian states.

Previously, he was a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Morrison Foerster. He did his LL.M. thesis entitled “Mathematical Approach to Claim Elements and Doctrine of Equivalents” in Patent Law under Chief Judge Randall R. Rader as the Thesis Advisor. The LL.M. thesis was published in entirety in the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology.

Dr. Dave’s experience in Intellectual Property (IP) includes IP counseling, patent prosecution, dispute resolution, licensing, technology transactions, IP mining and enforcement, post-grant proceedings, pre-litigation opinions and patent litigation, including ANDA litigation. He also has extensive experience in several diversified technologies, including biotechnology, business method, chemical, electrical, hardware and software technologies, information technology and internet, materials and polymer science, pharmaceuticals and telecommunication.

Dr. Dave is recognized as an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property and the Legal 500 U.S. He has authored articles published in Duke Law & Technology Review, Yale Journal of Law and Technology, and Harvard Journal of Law and Technology, among others. He is a Board Member of the United States National Inventors Hall of Fame, as well as other nonprofit organizations. He is the Founder of the George Washington University Law School India Project and has led 10 judicial delegations from the United States to India. He was a Board Member of WHEELS Global Foundation (www.wheelsglobalfoundation.org), whose mission is “Technology Enabled Philanthropy” to give back to India, the United States, and to global communities by providing technological solutions to issues related with water, health, energy, education, livelihood, and sustainability.
