About the Centre for Women in Police and Security Services (CWPSS)

The Centre for Women in Police and Security Services (CWPSS) has been established at the School of Internal Security and SMART Policing (SISSP) from the Academic Year 2020-21. The rationale for establishing the Centre is in the backdrop of the thrust of the Government of India towards achieving the goal of women inclusiveness in all aspects of nation building and sustainable development with specific focus on increasing women participation in police and security services and capacity building of the in-service women personnel. The Centre through its dedicated faculty and researchers would focus on undertaking research on these issues and prepare policy briefs. Further, the Centre would raise awareness, encourage and prepare young girls to join Police and Security Services and also incubate startups led by interested women young entrepreneurs.

Vision

  • To emerge as the Nodal Centre for providing solutions to the issues and challenges of Women in Police and Security Services.

Mission

  • To work towards achieving enhanced qualitative and quantitative representation of women in police and security establishment at all levels in India and prepare for assignments at United Nations Police Peacekeeping Missions.
  • To provide tailor-made academic programs and undertake research on issues and challenges of Women in Police and Security Services.
  • To offer skill-development and capacity building programmes and to encourage and promote young girls to contribute to Police and Security Services through employment and incubation of startups for Women in Police and Security Services.
  • To prepare and place policy briefs on specific issues in the domain to concerned departments and units.
About the Centre for Women in Police and Security Services (CWPSS)
